How to delete your Bill Organizer account and the data backed up to it, with or without the app.

Last updated: 17 September 2026

Delete your account in the app

You need to be signed in to see this option.

  1. Open Bill Organizer and go to Settings.
  2. Under Account, tap Delete account.
  3. Read the message and tap Delete account to confirm.

This deletes your account and everything backed up to it from our servers. It also removes every bill on that device, with its photos and the app’s settings. It cannot be undone.

Request deletion without the app

If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, you do not need to reinstall it. Send us a deletion request by email:

  1. Email [SUPPORT EMAIL] from the email address linked to your Bill Organizer account, with the subject “Delete my account”.
  2. If you used Sign in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, include your private relay address (it ends in @privaterelay.appleid.com). You can find it in your Apple Account settings, under Sign in with Apple.
  3. We may ask you to confirm the request from that email address, to make sure nobody else can delete your account.
  4. We delete your account and its data within 30 days and email you when it is done.
Email a deletion request

A request by email deletes your account and the data on our servers. Bills stored on a device are only removed from that device when you delete them, delete your account in the app, or delete the app.

What is deleted

  • Your account details: name, email address, password, and the link to Sign in with Apple or Google.
  • Your backed-up bills, including names, categories, websites, notes, amounts, dates, reminders and payment history.
  • Bill photos stored in your backup.
  • Your notification choices and email notification settings.
  • Installation identifiers and push notification tokens linked to your account.
  • Your Ask AI usage counts.

What we keep, and for how long

We do not keep your bills, notes or photos after your account is deleted. The only information that may remain is:

  • a record that we received and completed your deletion request (your email address and the dates), kept for up to 2 years so we can show we handled it;
  • server security logs, kept for up to 90 days;
  • information already sent to OpenAI for scanning or Ask AI, which OpenAI may keep for up to 30 days to detect abuse before deleting it;
  • records of your purchases held by Apple or Google under their own policies, which we do not control.

We keep information longer only if the law requires it, or to resolve a dispute or legal claim, and only for as long as that requires.

Your subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. To stop being charged, cancel it with the store you bought it from:

Delete some data without deleting your account

  • Delete a bill in the app. While you are signed in, it is also removed from your backup.
  • Turn off email or phone notifications in Settings → Reminders → Notification settings.
  • Sign out to remove your bills from a device. They stay in your account until you sign in again or delete the account.
  • Stop using scanning or Ask AI to stop sending information to OpenAI.
  • Email [SUPPORT EMAIL] to ask us to delete specific information.

If you do not have an account

Without an account, your bills are stored only on your device. To delete them, delete them in the app or delete the app.

If you used scanning or Ask AI without an account, our server holds an anonymous guest record: a random installation identifier, your device type and, if you allowed notifications, a push notification token. It holds no name or email address, and it is deleted automatically 12 months after the app last used it. You can ask us to delete it sooner by emailing [SUPPORT EMAIL].
